Today’s Photograph of the Day is a black and white of the Burnside Bridge in Antietam National Battlefield Park. This is one of my favorite places in the park to photograph. There is usually some nice reflections and outstanding color at sunrise. The elm tree that is reflected in this photograph is a witness tree. It was standing at the time of the conflict.
Today marks the end of extraordinary pricing for this year....

This scene was photographed at the site of the Battle of First Manassas at Manassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia. In the larger image, you should be able to see the Henry House and the Henry Hill Monument in the background. First Manassas is the battle that General Thomas J. Jackson got his nickname. You may know him better as “Stonewall”...
