Water Water Everywhere…

…nor any drop to drink — if I remember The Rime of the Ancient Mariner well enough. Rhode Island had a record rainfall of 15 inches in March, with 9 inches of that falling in 2 days. The biggest problem was the Pawtuxet River which crested at 21 feet above normal, which is 12 feet above flood stage. The Power of Stills

When I’m in the middle of the peak of my show seasons, there are times when I’m only back in my studio for only 1 or 2 days in a week. In an attempt to catch up I have tried to print and stretch canvas at the same time. These two activities are in different rooms, but it’s just a short walk, and I know about how long each print should take. But after just a couple times, I discovered that I could print...

How glorious a greeting…

How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains! ~ John Muir John Muir (1838-1914) a Scottish born, American Preservationist, was a co-founder of the Sierra Club. He spent much of his time in the mountains and woods, and referred to nature as home. He has a number of natural areas named in his honor, including The Muir Woods National Monument. You can find more information about John Muir on Wikipedia. The Sierra Club has a John Muir Exhibit, this site also includes his writings in HTML format. I’ve included a small gallery of my photographs that I think illustrate this quotation from John...
