I finally finished updating my website last night. I only had to upload four times to repair the major errors that I had made. Now there’s just a bit of housekeeping to do. A few missing files to add in, and a check to make sure that all of my files are linked correctly.

This is the third day updating my website. I hope to have it finished late today, or early tomorrow morning. I’ve revised the menu system, and re-arranged the location of most images into new galleries. I’ve kept the same basic look, but it should be easier to navigate once I complete the process. I did try the lightbox concept which is similar to the one I use here, but I found that each image had to reload each time it was selected — and that was way too slow.

Dark Hollow Falls is in Shenandoah National Park. For this view, hiking the fire road is much easier, especially in the rain. It may not be obvious right away, but I photographed this on a rainy day. The rocks in the foreground have rich colors, a nice contrast, and an attractive sheen. You can see the same effect if you take a seashell or stone and wet it. The colors that are there will really pop. If you’ve ever been to a souvenir shop that sells exotic shells, you may have noticed that all of the shells are lacquered.
